Lapland Climate & Clothing...

Lapland has a very crisp and dry cold which is no problem when you are wearing protective winter clothing. Warm thermal suits and boots can be pre-booked or hired locally.

Recommended are the following:

  • Several light layers of under garments
  • Ski goggles or sunglasses

Lapland Daylight Hours & Temperatures...

Days in the Arctic circle are at their shortest and coldest from early December to mid-January with a average of 5 to 6 hours daylight and temperatures ranging between -14 to -12 degrees. By March and April daylight hours are longer than in the UK with and average 13 to 18 hours daylight and temperatures between -8 and -2 degrees.
